This might be the cutest thing on the Internet. On Friday, whilst out in the field looking for lions, our team came across two young elephant calves making the most of the recent rains in Samburu (in northern Kenya). Here they are happily frolicking in a muddy waterhole with the rest of their family.
These two calves, which are about six months old, were with a group of eight or so elephants that had convened at this water hole. After months of extreme dryness, you can really see their joy as they take a mud bath.
We are still smiling after this very special sighting.
