Last year we had the great privilege of getting to know the Potter League for Animals in Middletown, Rhode Island, through our friend and supporter, Debbie Elliott. This shelter not only rescues numerous cats and dogs annually, but they also hosted us for a talk at their facility. We met some great people who have since supported our work.
This year, the Potter League went all out for our visit in October! Lion posters and newspaper adverts filled the streets of Newport and we were overwhelmed as we arrived in this beautiful town. We were hosted at the Atlantic Beach Club where we had the opportunity to speak to more than 100 friends and supporters of the Potter League and other guests too. In addition, one of their board members and friends, Kim from the Sequin jewellery shop in Newport, opened up her amazing store to host a cocktail party where 50% of all profits were to be donated to Ewaso Lions.
Thank you to everyone at the very special Potter League and Sequin store, and all our friends in Rhode Island for their support in helping us conserve lions in northern Kenya. We look forward to being back some day soon!
