Dear friends of Ewaso Lions,
As 2012 comes to a close, we ask you to consider making a year-end donation to Ewaso Lions. 2012 has been a good year for the project as we have grown and strengthened our lion conservation efforts in northern Kenya. We have seen the births of new lions, recorded increased tolerance for predators in community areas, and we have taken first steps to working in new areas needing our help.
But it has not been easy.
In the past two months we have seen a worrying increase in human-lion conflict. Just several days before Christmas, a local group of Samburu warriors tried to shoot three lions which had preyed on camels. Our team is working day after day to respond to such problems and prevent future attacks. Meanwhile, our camp was severely damaged in heavy winds and rains, and we urgently seek funds to rebuild and repair camp, which serves as our base and our home.
Please help Ewaso Lions by making a final donation in 2012. You can easily donate online at www.ewasolions.org/donate. Please help us get off to a strong start in 2013.
It is our belief that with your support we can achieve our goal of conserving northern Kenya’s last lions. Have a very happy new year!
