Our 4th annual Running for Lions half marathon took place on May 4th. Sixty runners raced through Samburu’s landscape, including 14 women. Our very own cook, Letupukwa, took home the 1st place prize of a fat goat! It was great fun to see so many people come together for lion conservation. Thanks to our donors who made the race possible!

The 21km race took place in the stunning Westgate Community Conservancy in Samburu, northern Kenya.

As the event approached, Lpuresi helped hang the banner.

Bringing in the first place prize: a big he-goat!

Letupukwa, our camp cook, crosses the finish line for the win!

The top three winners of the half marathon. Congratulations!
