It's that time of year again when we travel to San Francisco for the annual Wildlife Expo hosted by the Wildlife Conservation Network. Saturday, October 8, 2016 10am–6pm Mission Bay Conference Center, San Francisco, CA We will give a talk at 10am and be present throughout the day at our table where we will have Kenyan crafts for sale.

Jeneria Meets Jane Goodall at WCN Expo

Last month we traveled to San Francisco, California to attend the annual Wildlife Conservation Network (WCN) Expo. The Expo showcases the conservation work by WCN's network of 14 wildlife projects around the world. (We were chosen as their newest Partner earlier this year -- click here to read how we were chosen and what that means for us.) Over 1,000 people attended. Shivani gave a passionate presentation on Ewaso Lions to a packed auditorium and we met hundreds of enthusiastic conservation supporters throughout the day at our table.

Niassa Lion Project Visits Ewaso Lions in Samburu

The two teams – Niassa and Ewaso Lions – just after finishing a 2-day walk through the conservancy.

Staff from Mozambique's Niassa Lion Project visited our team for a fantastic five day visit. Niassa is deeply engaged in community-based conservation within Niassa National Reserve in Mozambique, and joined us to see our conservation programmes in northern Kenya.

It was a productive and fun exchange where there were lots of discussions, walks in the field with scouts and warriors, visits at the tourist lodge, conservancy headquarters and local village, and plenty of great wildlife viewing, including close up encounters with elephants, first time sightings of ostrich and giraffe, leopard and cubs and much more. And they especially enjoyed seeing Kenya's lions!

Ewaso Lions Joins Wildlife Conservation Network as Newest Conservation Partner

We are excited to announce that we have been selected as the newest Conservation Partner of the Wildlife Conservation Network (WCN).

WCN protects endangered species and preserves their natural habitats by supporting entrepreneurial conservationists around the world. Through WCN, Ewaso Lions will have access to a community of wildlife supporters, as well as expert support in areas such as strategic planning, accounting and fundraising. Ewaso Lions will also be a featured presenter at WCN’s Wildlife Conservation Expo in San Francisco every October, and will be connected to individuals and organisations that want to invest in entrepreneurial conservation.
